TBA The second annual Amazing Race Against Time will take place in Oakville on Saturday October 3rd, 2009 between 10am-3pm. The fundraising event is part of the Million or More Oakville () campaign raising money for the Stephen Lewis Foundation working towards turning the tide of HIV/AIDS in Africa.
The event, aimed at teens and young adults in the Oakville area, has been designed to mimic the popular reality television show 'The Amazing Race' on CBS. Starting at Appleby College teams of 2 individuals will have to solve a series clues leading them to secret destinations around the downtown Oakville area where they will compete against other teams in a variety of fun and exciting activities. These tasks will challenge individuals’ mental and physical capabilities as well as encouraging teamwork amongst the groups.
All points will be tallied at the end of the race and the winning teams will be announced at the closing ceremonies to be held at Appleby College. During this time race organizers, volunteers and participants will gather for a BBQ, prize ceremony, raffle, musical performances and a special appearance by guest speaker Ilana Landsberg Lewis from the Stephen Lewis Foundation.
