This museum was formed in 1970 and contains a large collection of First World War combat aircraft. Some of the air craft is still in working condition and many can be seen at various air shows simulating in-air combat.

The Oakville Museum tells the story of how Oakville came to be. The museum consists of three main buildings: the Custom House, Erchless (the Chisholm family home) and the Old Post Office. The museum buildings hold artifacts and memorabilia related to the first family in the area - the Chisholm’s - and the town’s development over the years.

The Thomas home was the early home of Oakville resident, Thomas Merrick. The old farmhouse was built between the 1830s and 1840s and is a fine example of the period. Today the building acts as a museum and a testament to that time period.
